Welcome Statement And Purpose

Welcome to The 50 Million Pound Challenge. The following guidelines outline both acceptable and unacceptable behaviors within The Challenge website. We reserve the right to change these guidelines at any time. The Challenge Community brings together people who want to live a healthier lifestyle and allows them to share common experiences and learn how to get the most out of the program.

Where appropriate, The Challenge community monitors may answer questions and assist users; however the community forums are not intended for site support requests. To insure a direct response to an issue or question you are having, please submit your question to us via the Contact Us form.

Getting Started

We encourage new members to browse the Community before making their first post to familiarize themselves with the various categories of forums and the different areas of the Community where they can contribute. Visit the “About the Community” page for more information.

To begin posting messages, users must be registered members of The Challenge and logged into their account.

Posting and Commenting

We are a self-monitored Community. Members have the opportunity to post content, and also are responsible for reporting offensive or inappropriate content. The Challenge monitors do not pre-screen or review comments before posting. However we reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines or the State Farm Insurance website Terms & Conditions. Community monitors will review any content reported as inappropriate and determine whether it should be removed from the site, and may or may not give a reason or explanation for the removal of content. Occasionally monitors may choose to communicate privately with members (via email) about their posts.

Examples of actions/posts that will be removed and may incur disciplinary action

  • Deliberately misquoting others
  • Using The Challenge Community for commercial purposes, including advertising, promotion, junk mail or 'spamming'
  • Personal attacks or threats on other members, groups, sponsors, or suppliers of The Challenge
  • Posting, sending or linking to content that is harmful, threatening, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, inflammatory, harassing, vulgar, obscene, offensive fraudulent, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable
  • Posting, sending or linking to content that would constitute, encourage or provide instructions for a criminal offense, violate the rights of any party, or that would otherwise create liability or violate any law

State Farm Insurance and The 50 Million Pound Challenge reserve the right to restrict user access or remove users from the Community for violating these guidelines.

Monitors and sponsors may contribute to discussions just as members do and are held to the same standards and Community guidelines as members.

Members are encouraged to stay on topic, and should be aware that monitors may move posts to other categories or close threads that have become inactive.

Get to Know the Monitors

The Challenge Community monitors will be clearly identified (with the word "Monitor" next to their screen name) within the Community. They will review content flagged as inappropriate and may provide assistance or answer questions posted by members when appropriate. State Farm Insurance and 50 Million Pound Challenge employees who are not assigned as monitors are not authorized to represent themselves on the forum as monitors.

Links to Other Websites and Content

Members can post hyperlinks to external websites within their posts. However, members should be aware that the linked sites are not reviewed or endorsed by State Farm Insurance or the 50 Million Pound Challenge. Members should use their own judgment before posting a link to an external site. Links within a post are subject to the same treatment as the rest of the content on The Challenge Community. Privacy

The Challenge Community is a public forum, and as such members should be aware not to reveal any information within the forums that they do not want made public. Posts that include personal information about members may be removed by The Challenge monitors, including full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. For more information on the State Farm Insurance Privacy Policy, click here.

User Content

By posting content to any part of the Community, you grant State Farm Insurance and the 50 Million Pound Challenge the right to use that content in any other medium without notification or compensation. See the State Farm Insurance website Terms & Conditions for more information.

Most of the content posted in the Community is provided by members and as such is the responsibility of the individual member posting the content. State Farm Insurance and The 50 Million Pound Challenge do not control, and are not responsible for, this content. Furthermore, State Farm Insurance and The 50 Million Pound Challenge do not check this content for accuracy and as such information posted by members may be inaccurate

You agree to indemnify and hold State Farm Insurance, The 50 Million Pound Challenge, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, employees, partners and licensors harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of comments you submit, your use of the service, your connection to the service, or your violation of any rights of another.

Please consult your doctor or other qualified professional before relying on information shared by other Community members. We are not responsible for the accuracy of member information and are not liable for any damage or loss that may result from your reliance on what other members have said

NOTICE AND PROCEDURE FOR MAKING CLAIMS OF COPYRIGHT OR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY INFRINGEMENT

We respect the intellectual property of others. If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, or your intellectual property rights have been otherwise violated, please provide our Intellectual Property Agent the following information

  1. an electronic or physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright or other intellectual property interest;
  2. a description of the copyrighted work or other intellectual property that you claim has been infringed;
  3. a description of where the material that you claim is infringing is located on the site;
  4. your address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. a statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
